As an educator, it is my goal to give my students some tools to guide them so they will become life-long learners.

"You can teach a student a lesson for a day, but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives."  Clay P. Bedford

Thanks for visiting my web site. I hope this will serve as a valuable tool for communication, and also give the students the resources for extra practice on skills.

This is my 22nd year as an educator. Even as a child, I have always wanted to teach. I love children, and I enjoy working  with them. I have four children of my own, and I was fortunate to be able to stay home with them until my youngest started Kindergarten. I then decided to go back to school and follow my dream. After I recieved my degree, my first teaching position was at Will Roger's Middle School in Miami, Oklahoma.  (We lived in Miami for 20 years and raised our children there.) I taught Art, 6th-8th grades, and 6th-grade Language Arts. After our youngest graduated from high school, we decided to move to Neosho. At that time, I had already been teaching here in Neosho for four years. I taught 6th-grade Language Arts at Neosho Middle School for 13 years. I am now teaching my  sixth year in the third grade at Benton Elementary.

My children are now all married with children of their own. I have two sons and two daughters, and seven grandchildren!

Children always have been and always will be a huge part of my life!
